What Brought Me to Somatic Healing
As we invite the body into the healing process, let's remember that both our intellect and our body work together to create our wise mind. When we utilize our wise mind, we are tapping into all that we have learned cognitively alongside all that we are learning emotionally and somatically.
In the Befriending the Body guide, we practice our wise mind both through cognitive learning and somatic/emotional practice. We deepen our intellectual understanding of our bodies and our nervous system through the "Let's Learn" and "Let's Reflect" sections of the guide. We learn experientially and somatically in the "Let's Practice" sections.
Together, we are tapping into both top-down and bottom-up approaches to complex trauma healing.
